MADISON — Darlington's potent rushing attack and stingy defense made all the difference in the D6 state title game as the Redbirds defeated Edgar, 42-18, Thursday at Camp Randall Stadium.

The Redbirds finished with 287 yards rushing, averaging 7 yards a clip.

Darlington jumped out to an early lead, converting a successful flea flicker on fourth down for their first score of the game. Dante Glendenning scored on the next possession, and Calum Crist added an interception for a touchdown.

Zeke Zuberbuhler capped off an impressive first half with a 90-yard dash to the end zone. He finished with three scores on the ground and one passing touchdown. Zuberbuhler led the Redbirds with 133 rushing yards. Calum Crist added another 104 on the ground.
