DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks announced Thursday that guard Dante Exum will miss the entire season after his right knee didn’t heal the way the team had hoped.
According to the Mavs, Exum is still dealing with complications from his offseason surgery, and now he’ll need a second procedure — effectively shutting down his season before it ever got started.
Exum returned to Dallas over the summer on a one-year deal worth $3.3 million , but persistent knee problems kept him from taking part in training camp or team practices.
The 30-year-old has battled injuries throughout his NBA career. He contributed 8.0 points and 2.8 assists per game across 75 appearances for the Mavericks over the last two seasons.
This is another injury blow to the Mavs as they desperately need the entire team
