This week are Oregon’s high school football semifinals.

But also taking place this weekend will be the Class 6A Columbia Cup finals. Back from its one-year stint as the “Class 6A State Championship” tournament, the Columbia Cup runs as a consolation bracket for Oregon’s football teams that fall outside of the top 16 in the final rankings.

Here is a look at the teams playing on Friday night:

No. 18 South Medford (7-4) vs. No. 17 Sandy (7-4)

7 p.m. Friday, Cottage Grove High School

Last meeting: South Medford won 41-21 in the 2024 state quarterfinals.
