Plans to upgrade one of Lake Macquarie’s worst traffic bottlenecks have advanced with the release of a new consultation report.
It follows a community consultation period earlier this year, during which almost 500 submissions were received.
According to Transport for NSW (TfNSW), the responses showed overwhelming support for changes to the busy TC Frith Avenue corridor, prompting several alterations to the original concept design.
Among the most significant enhancements is the addition of new signage southbound on the stretch instructing motorists to turn right at Fourth Street to access businesses along Seventh Street.
The alteration aims to streamline driver movements and ease congestion at key pinch points.
The alignment of the proposed shared path has also been revised.
