ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A man has been found guilty of murdering a woman during a “domestic dispute” in 2022, according to the Gwinnett County District Attorney.

The district attorney said Edward Rodley Smith, Jr., 39, shot and killed 33-year-old Breana Marie Rogers on Oct. 7, 2022. The district attorney said witnesses reported hearing Smith shoot Rogers after their BMW crashed on Stone Mountain Highway.

One witness reportedly told 911 they heard Rogers shout “I’m tired of this” during the fight.

Smith testified that he was afraid for his life and that Rogers had reached for his wallet.

Smith was convicted of malice murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
