AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Eight families finalized adoptions in a Potter County court today, with each gavel strike creating new permanent family bonds.

Judge Titiana Frausto presided over the adoptions and said it was a rewarding break from her normal duties.

“It’s just excitement. I know that these people are choosing to bring their kids into their home and I know that some of these kids have been waiting a very long time to have a new home to go home to, so it’s nothing but joy to get to witness it and play my small role in it,” said Frausto.

One family celebrated adding a second child through adoption. Greg Holmes and Bryan Strange adopted the boy’s sister two and a half years ago.
