DALLAS, Texas — Students at SMU Dedman School of Law say Professor Charles Hosch has a way of making people feel seen.
“He really cared about us, our backgrounds and why we were here, and what we were trying to get out of the class,” said former student Barrett Kerr.
Another former student, Sydney Ryba, called him “a great professor and just a great person.”
That’s why his absence in class on Wednesday, the last meeting before semester exams, landed so hard. Kerr said students are feeling helpless as the search continues .
“Feeling like there's nothing we can do at this point to help his family, and we want to just be there to support,” he said.
Hosch went hiking on the Appalachian Trail in his home state of Georgia on November 11 and vanished somewhere on the way down from Blood
