When Jimmy Tueon walked upstairs to the Latrobe Cricket Club rooms one night after training, he had no idea the magnitude of the opportunity that awaited him at just 14.

Now the Demons' young gun is a Cricket North West first-grade cricketer after recently tasting the top level as one of the club's youngest debutants - a feat that even caught Jimmy off guard.

"After training I went upstairs, the teams got read out straight away and I was the last name read out," Jimmy said.

"I was pretty surprised because I wasn't expecting it so soon. I'm not a man of very many words, but it was good to have teammates around.

"I didn't really know what to expect [at the level], but it's good to get games under my belt to improve my cricket."
