Calgary police have charged two men after seizing 60 kilograms of cannabis resin at the Calgary International Airport. The suspects, Kody Carl Klimove, 27, and Corey Daniel Airhart, 34, face charges of possession for the purpose of distribution and possession with intent to export. The incident unfolded on November 14, when the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority alerted police after discovering suspicious items in four checked bags during routine X-ray screening. At approximately 8 a.m., screening officers opened the bags and found vacuum-sealed packages wrapped in plastic. Subsequent testing confirmed the presence of drugs. The total weight of the seized hashish was 60 kilograms, with an estimated street value of $1.2 million. Following the discovery, Calgary police collaborated with airport staff to trace the luggage's destination and reviewed CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Both men were arrested without incident as they attempted to board a flight to Vancouver. Authorities believe they intended to travel to Sri Lanka via connecting flights. Klimove and Airhart are scheduled to appear in court on January 14, 2026. Police are urging anyone with information about this case to contact them or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or via their website or the P3 Tips app.
