MONTOURSVILLE — The final major contract for the construction of a central Pennsylvania thruway has been awarded.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on Thursday said Trumbull Corp. and Golden Triangle Construction Co. have been contracted to do the paving and related work on the southern section of the Central Susquehanna Valley Thruway (CSVT).
The two Allegheny County contractors submitted a joint venture bid of $186,381,639.
While a notice to proceed has been issued, it is unlikely much work will be done until the weather breaks in the spring, said David Wise, a PennDOT assistant construction project manager.
Walsh Construction Co., of Chicago, is completing a $106 million contract it received in late 2023 to build nine bridges and four noise barriers.
Bids are expected
