HAMPTON, Va. — Four-time reigning state champion Phoebus entered the 2025 season facing an unfamiliar challenge: a full reset. Their 51-game win streak was snapped by Warwick early in the year, and the Phantoms went on to lose three of four games — including the end of a 10-game run against rival Hampton.
Through it all, senior running back Tyree Diggs became the steady hand that kept the program grounded.
“Just making everybody better around me,” Diggs said. “It’s not really about what they ask of me playing-wise — it’s about getting everyone else better.”
Head coach Jeremy Blunt praised his senior leader for the energy and character he brings to the locker room.
“He’s a great leader, man,” Blunt said. “High character kid. He comes to work every day full of energy, and it’s contagious
