The UM System Board of Curators voted Thursday to keep Todd Graves as chair for a second one-year term and elected Robert Blitz as the new vice chair, effective Jan. 1.

Graves, who has served as chair since January, will continue leading the board after what university officials called a landmark year for the UM System. Blitz will replace Michael Williams, whose six-year term is ending.

"I am honored to have the confidence of my fellow curators to lead the board for another year," Graves said in a news release. "I will work with them to continue building on the successes of the past so that the UM System continues to provide world-class education, cutting-edge research and economic opportunity for the people of our great state."
