FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville over $13 million for new Razorback Transit buses to meet increased demand.
In a statement on Thursday, Nov. 20, the FTA announced $2 billion in funding to help modernize America's transit bus infrastructure.
“Transit buses provide a vital service for millions of Americans every day,” said FTA Administrator Marc Molinaro. “These grants will strengthen connections between communities, boost bus safety and reliability, and enhance mobility and quality of life for passengers.”
In a study released in November , the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission found that, among rapid bus transit, light rail, and commuter rail, buses would be the best option for the region.
