SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - For the past four months, the governor’s office has met with leaders from key critical infrastructure partners to assess vulnerabilities in the state.
The Governor’s Resilience and Infrastructure Task Force (GRIT) convened to assess vulnerabilities and risks in the state’s critical infrastructure. Lieutenant Governor Tony Venhuizen said the meetings have progressed above expectations.
The GRIT recommendations come very timely.
“Just last week, there was a power outage in the Black Hills, and every time something like that happens, we try to learn what we can and find ways to improve,” Lieutenant Governor Tony Venhuizen said.
GRIT is recommending that Governor Rhoden include one-time funding for a cloud-based backup to the state radio in his budget.
