ELYRIA, Ohio — Myles Grimmett, a 15-year-old Elyria High School student and basketball player, will be honored for his extraordinary perseverance at the 26th annual Greater Cleveland Sports Awards.

Grimmett will receive the Jim Donovan Courage Award on Feb. 5, 2026, at Rocket Arena. This marks the first time the first time the honor will be given out since it was renamed for Donovan , the legendary 3News sports anchor and Browns radio voice who died in October 2024 following a long battle with leukemia.

According to a press release from the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Grimmett's journey began at age 5 when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer located just below his right shoulder. His medical team at Cleveland Clinic faced a difficult decis
