The search for a missing driver whose car was swept away in floodwaters near Cordes Lakes ended when rescuers in Yavapai County found the man's body approximately 6 miles downstream Nov. 20, authorities said.
More than 80 search and rescue personnel and volunteers helped search for 74-year-old David Otero after his vehicle went into rapidly moving flood waters in Big Bug Creek on Nov. 18, according to sheriff's officials.
Otero’s body was found along Big Bug Creek, near its intersection with the Agua Fria River, miles away from where the vehicle Otero was driving was swept into floodwaters.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office extended "its deepest condolences to the Otero family during this difficult time," in an update posted on Facebook .
