CHEYENNE — A former Laramie County School District 1 teacher, who is already facing charges of sexual abuse of minors, pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of child pornography Thursday in Laramie County District Court.

Police said they uncovered 2,102 images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on 55-year-old Brian Wrhel’s phone, which was being searched after he was arrested July 28 on 16 felony counts of sexual abuse of minors related to a series of incidents at Meadowlark Elementary, according to court documents.

This is the second time that Wrhel has pleaded not guilty to charges related to child sexual abuse; neither case has been resolved, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
