Pitt has only hit the road once this season, traveling to West Virginia, and that trip didn’t go as planned. The Panthers were hoping for a better outcome on their second road trip. While the game wasn’t a true road test — played on a neutral court as part of the Legends Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla. — UCF held a slight advantage, with its campus just an hour from the Ocean Center.

Jeff Capel’s squad kept it close through the first half, but UCF’s physicality soon took over. Pitt struggled to keep pace with the Knights’ intensity, couldn’t sustain momentum and ultimately fell, 77-67,
