Ashes hostilities kicked off early this year, with a feud between Steve Smith and former England star Monty Panesar erupting with the Australian captain being labelled a "cheat".
Panesar, 43, started the feud when he encouraged England to go after Smith by reigniting sandpaper-gate during the Ashes, in reference to the 2018 Australian ball-tampering scandal during a tour of South Africa.
Smith, who was given a 12-month ban after the incident as he was captain of the team, has since moved on - but he couldn't help but return serve to Panesar during a press conference on the eve of the 2025-26 Ashes series.
The 36-year-old brought up Panesar's infamous appearance on the show Mastermind from 2019 where he answered incorrectly to several questions.
