WILKINSBURG, Pa. —

Five vehicles were involved in a crash Thursday night in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, with multiple injuries reported.

Several police cars and ambulances were at the scene near Penn Avenue and East Swissvale Avenue. Pittsburgh's Action News 4 video showed one vehicle on its side.

Pittsburgh police said detectives were making a traffic stop at a different location when the driver of a black SUV fled. Officers did not chase the vehicle; police said that was in accordance with the department's pursuit policy. Shortly afterward, officers found the crash.
