LUBBOCK, Texas (TTU) - Texas Tech held Mississippi State to just 31 points for the final three quarters as the Lady Raiders posted a comeback win over the Bulldogs, 69-62, on Thursday evening at the United Supermarkets Arena.
Mississippi State (4-1) outscored the Lady Raiders 31-16 in the first quarter, but Tech responded with gritty defense in the last three to get the win. The Lady Raiders (5-0) scored 15 to Mississippi State’s two points in the second period to cut the deficit to 31-33 at the half. The Scarlet and Black also held the Bulldogs to 37.7 percent from the field (20-for-53) and forced 22 turnovers on the night. Tech added 11 steals and grabbed eight offensive boards to Mississippi State’s six.
