HANSON, Mass. —

Whitman-Hanson School Committee Member Kara Moser announced her resignation following Wednesday's contentious community meeting that saw teachers and students demanding answers for the district's fiscal mismanagement.

In a letter posted to her Facebook page Thursday morning, Moser cited a lack of communication between town departments, committee members, administrators, and citizens as one of the reasons for her departure.

"Over the past few weeks, it has become increasingly clear that there have been breakdowns in communication and trust between those groups, which has put our district into a period of significant turmoil and which has an immediate negative impact on staff and students," Moser wrote.
