Passengers on Australian flights will soon be prohibited from using power banks under a unanimous move by the major carriers and one endorsed by the aviation industry.
In efforts to mitigate fire risks, power banks cannot be charged or used on board any Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar flight starting December 15, and Virgin Australia flights from December 1, the airlines announced on Friday.
The safety measures will apply to all domestic and international services, with no exemptions to be granted.
