LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A second civil lawsuit has been filed alleging that a Louisville Metro Police sergeant canceled an emergency response he knew involved an active Domestic Violence Order (DVO) meant to protect a known at-risk woman and left the victim unprotected for three hours.

The complaint states that neighbors called 911 at around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, and reported shouting, threats, banging and that a man had taken a woman’s phone and had caused trouble at the address before.

Minutes later, an officer shared on the LMPD radio channel that the man inside the home, 58-year-old Richard Gregory, was under an active DVO to protect the woman who lived at the address from the suspect.
