BUCKEYE, Ariz. — Several animals and livestock were found living in "horrific" conditions in Buckeye, according to officials with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Some of the animals were suffering from severe medical issues and others were found dead or "clinging to life," officials said.
Detectives and the Animal Crimes Unit medical staff responded to stabilize and treat the surviving animals, officials said. All of the animals were removed from the property after a warrant was obtained, officials said.
Charges are pending the results of a full investigation, according to officials.
"If you believe an animal is in danger don't wait, report it," the sheriff's office said in a social media post. To report animal crimes, call 602-876-TIPS.
