A young professional has sparked a lively debate on Reddit about workplace expectations and entry-level pay after revealing that the individual quit their first job just three hours into the first day. The role, advertised as work-from-home with “minimum work pressure,” required a 9-hour shift and paid only Rs 12,000 per month.
“Got my first job today… But it was a 9-hour shift and the salary was a measly 12k,” the Redditor wrote. The person, who initially believed that the job was manageable alongside exam preparation, says that “3 hours later I realised it will take up all my time and I wouldn’t be able to grow in career. So I quit.”
What frustrated the user most was that the listing had been promoted as a part-time position, only to be turned into a full-time role at onboarding .
