Three men have been arrested by federal police for allegedly harassing or threatening three politicians, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese .

A 29-year-old man from Tamworth, in northeast NSW , will appear in court on January 20 accused of menacing the PM online.

He is also facing three firearms charges after the AFP allegedly discovered a prohibited gel blaster rifle and ammunition during a recent raid.

It comes as a Sydney man, 30, was accused of encouraging abuse and hate towards independent MP Allegra Spender after she spoke out against a neo-nazi rally.

A third man was charged after he allegedly sent menacing emails, made an abusive phone call and defaced a flag at the electoral office of Lidia Thorpe.

The Melbourne man, 32, will appear in court on Thursday.
