COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - As Thanksgiving and Christmas get closer, the city of College Station is getting in the holiday spirit with the annual Christmas in the Park .
With over a million lights on display, Stephen C. Beachy Central Park will be lit up nightly from Nov. 27 through Jan. 1.
Jeep Wentsch with the city of College Station Parks and Recreation Department said families are encouraged to come out and enjoy the light displays between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
In addition to the light displays, the Christmas in the Park event will take place on Dec. 6, starting with the Jingle Bell Fun Run.
The run begins at 3:30 p.m. and will follow the same route as the Christmas parade being held afterward.
Following the parade, Wentsch said the Christmas in the Park event really kicks off
