eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant has failed to respond to calls to testify before Congress for making a “direct threat” to the free speech of American citizens.

Earlier this week Sky News host Caroline Marcus exclusively revealed the eSafety boss had been sent a letter signed by a Republican congressman calling on her to testify before Congress for her efforts to censor certain X posts.

The letter requests Ms Grant give testimony before the committee by December 2.

While the request is for US-born Ms Inman Grant to voluntarily appear, Sky News understands there could be moves to legally compel her should she decline.
