High-Level Committee Probing Nowgam Police Station Blast

Srinagar, Nov 21, KNT: The government has constituted a high-level committee to investigate the accidental explosion that rocked the Nowgam Police Station on November 14, killing nine persons, including an SIA inspector and a naib tehsildar. Officials said the probe panel is headed by the Principal Secretary and includes senior officers from the Home Department, the Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, the District Magistrate Srinagar and a senior scientist from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory. Authorities said the committee has already begun examining the circumstances leading to the blast.
