At least six people were killed and several others injured after a 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck central Bangladesh on Friday morning. Buildings swayed across the capital, Dhaka, prompting residents to flee into the streets, reported Associated Press.

The tremor occurred at 10:38 a.m., and was centered in the Ghorashal area of Narsingdi district, roughly 25 kilometres (16 miles) from Dhaka. The US Geological Survey said the quake originated at a depth of 10 kilometres (6 miles).
