Thiruvananthapuram: November 22 has been declared a local holiday in Thiruvananthapuram to mark the first day of the annual Uroos festival at the Beemapally Dargah Shareef. The District Collector stated that all educational institutions and state government offices within the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation limits will remain closed.
However, local self-government offices and government departments involved in election duties will remain operational, as directed by the Deputy Collector (Elections). The holiday will not affect previously scheduled public examinations.
The Beemapally Uroos festival will run from November 22 to December 2.
