Jaipur: A nine-year-old Class 4 student at the prestigious Neerja Modi School in Jaipur died by suicide on 1 November after allegedly being bullied for 18 months, according to a report by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The CBSE report stated that the student had been subjected to verbal abuse, including "bad words" and teasing with "sexual connotations," and that repeated complaints by her parents and class teacher were ignored.
"As per the statements of the parents given to the committee, it is clear that the school did not take any preventive and proactive action on the repeated complaint of bullying and teasing by the classmates.
