Two women were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting after police spotted suspicious activity in Coventry. Officers from the Holbrooks ward noticed two women laden with items on Tuesday, November 18.
Upon questioning them, officers said it "became clear" the items had been stolen. The goods were returned to the stores from which they were taken.
A spokesman for Holbrooks Police said: "On Tuesday evening officers noticed two females acting suspicious carrying items from local shops.
"The officers stopped the females to speak to them, and it became clear the items had been obtained by way of shoplifting.
"The two females were arrested and transported to Coventry custody. The items were returned to the store they were stolen from."
