COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man is dead after a shooting in downtown Columbus Friday morning, police said.
The incident happened in the 20 block of North High Street just before 3 a.m., according to Columbus public safety dispatchers.
Police said a security guard called 911 about the shooting. He told police that he performed CPR on the man who was shot.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a man shot multiple times. He was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Police said he died from his injuries at 3:28 a.m.
A firearm was found at the scene of the incident, but police said it’s too early to determine who the weapon belongs to.
