CHICAGO (WLS) -- The man accused of dousing a woman in gasoline and setting her on fire on a CTA train will stay behind bars.

Judge McNally ordered Lawrence Reed remain in custody until his next court hearing, saying he poses a danger to the community.

Reed once again Friday declined legal counsel and decided to represent himself.

It was also Reed who told the judge he, too, would like to be detained, "for his safety."

He paged through photos of evidence Friday from CTA security footage - allegedly committing this crime on a blue line train Monday night.
