An 18-year-old Kakabeka Falls man was charged with careless driving on Tuesday after a sport sedan and a transport truck collided in the village on Highway 11-17.
Police said minor injuries occurred in the 10 a.m. crash, which occurred between Oliver Road and Marian Street.
The trucker was not charged, police said.
Kakabeka Falls residents have been sensitive to in increase in heavy truck traffic through the village since Oct. 1, when transports started being diverted away from two main Thunder Bay urban routes and onto Highway 11-17.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, a 24-year-old Manitoba man was charged with careless driving after a transport truck crashed into a Highway 17 ditch and was severely damaged about 30 kilometres east of Terrace Bay, police said.
