A Pontiac homicide that was unsolved for nearly three decades is no longer a cold case, officials say, with the recent arrest of a man living in northern Indiana.
The victim, Charles Barnett, was shot to death on April 30, 1998, when he walked into his Pontiac home on Corwin Street and surprised a burglar, officials said. Barnett was 73 years old.
