ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Cobb County judge found a man guilty Thursday of shooting and killing his Acworth neighbors.
It was a bench trial, so there was no jury.
Matthew Lanz was convicted of all charges in the November 2021 murders of Justin and Amber Hicks, including:
Four counts of felony murder
Two counts of malice murder
Two counts of aggravated assault
Two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
One count of home invasion
One count of second-degree cruelty to children
One count of tampering with evidence
