Weak high pressure hovering over the Pacific Northwest on Friday will keep rain at bay and give Portland mostly sunny skies by the afternoon.

Friday morning, however, comes with patchy morning fog that may be dense at times and affect visibility. Remember to drive with your lights on and use caution near crosswalks and in school zones.

The National Weather Service expects fog to linger longer in some areas, especially in the southern Willamette Valley where light winds won’t be of much help to clear it out. In those areas, daytime high temps could stay below 50 degrees.

Portland should begin to see the fog clear out by about 10 a.m. and skies will be mostly sunny later in the day. The high temp will reach about 52 degrees.
