Premier League clubs have voted in favour of implementing Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) rules, replacing the existing Profit and Sustainability (PSR) regulations.
This decision was made during Friday's shareholder meeting attending by Aston Villa , where representatives from all 20 clubs had the chance to cast their votes on proposed changes.
Three main alterations were suggested: top-to-bottom anchoring (commonly known as just anchoring), squad cost rules (SCR), and sustainability and system resilience (SSR).
The first of these three was seen as the most contentious, as it would impose a strict spending cap in the division. Anchoring takes into account the distributed money of the poorest club in the division and allows every Premier League club to spend five times as much
