STATE ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities are investigating a report of a violent robbery on Wednesday in Port Richmond.
The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. at Treadwell and Slaight avenues in Port Richmond, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
An unknown individual approached and allegedly threatened a 23-year-old man at that location.
The individual used what was described as an imitation gun or taser to strike as an imitation gun or taser to strike the 23-year-old man in the back of the head.
The individual stole the victim’s crossbody bag and wallet before fleeing in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a male wearing all-black clothing, including a sweatshirt, sweatpants and sneakers.
EMS treated the victim on the scene.
