The Metroplex never lacks for talent in high school volleyball, and several of the top players in the area were recently commended with All-American and all-region selections by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Only 24 student-athletes throughout the country earned an All-America first-team spot, and that list included a trio of local standouts in Allen sophomore Maya Ogbogu, McKinney North senior Gabi Rodriguez and Prosper Walnut Grove senior Danielle Whitmire.
