Unai Emery had very little to say about Aston Villa’s rivals, Birmingham City , unveiling plans for a new stadium.

Called the Birmingham City Powerhouse , the ground is expected to be ready for the start of the 2030/2031 season.

The stadium will be surrounded by 12 chimneys and is designed to host a variety of sporting and entertainment events.

It will have a capacity exceeding 60,000 and is the centrepiece of the Sports Quarter, which was showcased on Thursday afternoon.

Villa boss Emery was asked during his pre-Leeds press conference whether he wanted to experience the Second City derby during his time at the club, given Blues’ recently announced plans.

“I am focusing on our matches and I am focusing on everything here that we are trying to build,” Emery said.
