One of the NFL’s most polarizing quarterbacks had a predictably divisive debut last weekend.

Following an injury to Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders got his first NFL snaps in Baltimore’s loss to the Ravens. The box score was brutal for the rookie, as Sanders went 4-for-16 for 47 yards and threw an interception.

Sanders has garnered plenty of headlines since falling to the fifth round in last spring’s draft, and detractors took a victory lap following the poor debut. However, Sanders supporters were quick to point out that he didn’t get any first-team reps in practice as the Browns prepared Gabriel to start.
