Jammu- Northern Railway’s Jammu Division conducted a surprise ticket-checking operation at Jammu Railway Station early Friday, during which 60 ticketless travellers were detected and fined a total of ₹26,325, officials said.
The four-hour “fortress check” was carried out from 4 am to 8 am with a team of 15 ticket-checking personnel led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, alongside Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) staff. Security personnel were stationed at all entry and exit points to verify ticket validity and check for any unauthorized or suspicious items, the railway division said in a statement.
Officials noted that Jammu station handles a heavy rush of passengers during early morning hours, making it a key location for such check
