PHOENIX – A division leader in the Arizona Attorney General’s Office has resigned and been arrested after she allegedly sold jewelry that was delivered to her home by mistake.
Vanessa Hickman resigned from her role as division chief of the department’s state government division on Monday, according to a spokesman for Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes.
Communications director Richie Taylor said the AG’s Office placed Hickman on leave Nov. 13 after learning she was under investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspector.
“Attorney General Mayes believes that every individual is entitled to due process, but also that justice must be served. The allegations against Ms. Hickman are serious for any state employee, particularly someone in a leadership position,” Taylor said in a statement.
