Red Sox might have to go through Blue Jays, Orioles to get Pete Alonso to AL East in free agency

Pete Alonso has done all his major league mashing in the NL East.

The free agent from the New York Mets may very well have the opportunity this offseason to take his talents to the AL East instead.

ESPN listed seven possible landing spots for Alonso in an article on Friday by Jorge Castillo, including a return to the Mets. Three of the other six teams listed were AL East ballclubs.

The Boston Red Sox were one of them. They've been a common link to Alonso early in free agency.

But the last also included the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays (along with the Phillies, Reds and Pirates).
