SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — The South Fulton race for mayor is heating up as the candidates went head-to-head Tuesday night during a debate ahead of the runoff election.
Residents packed into the building to hear Councilwoman Carmalitha Gumbs for District Two and former Councilman Mark Baker for District Seven share their plans for the city if elected to the highest office in town.
"We can talk all this great game, all great game, but I have not embarrassed you," said Gumbs. "I have not been on the news, and I have stood up for this city."
Gumbs is referring to former South Fulton mayor Khalid Kamau , whose attorney represented him on Election Day for a case management hearing after he pleaded not guilty to a criminal trespassing charge. The charge stems from accusations that he broke into a
