Wicked: For Good has already broken a box office record before the end of its opening weekend. The sequel adapts the second act of the hit Broadway musical about the friendship between Glinda (Ariana Grande) and the Wicked Witch of the West (Cynthia Erivo). Unlike its predecessor, the Wicked: For Good soundtrack features two new original songs from original composer Stephen Schwartz.

Universal has now revealed that Wicked: For Good earned $30.8 million at the domestic box office during its previews. This is the best preview gross for any movie of 2025 so far , by a wide margin. The previous record-holder was the Marvel Cinematic Universe installment The Fantastic Four: First Steps , which debuted in July with $24.4 million in previews.
